Kappa Search Inc. is a Chicago recruiting firm that specializes in engineering, manufacturing, operations and supply chain recruitment and placement. We are currently recruiting for a Quality Assurance Supervisor for a top client. The Quality Assurance Supervisor position reports directly to the Plant QA Manager. The position will have supervision responsibilities.


  • Responsible for the facility overall Quality Policy and Procedure administration.
  • Maintain quality assurance systems, procedures, and necessary documentation.
  • Ensure all quality testing equipment is calibrated.
  • Manage and audit internal and external quality programs take necessary corrective action.
  • Being a strong contributor as a quality champion in a machining/manufacturing environment
  • Oversees the management of the precision inspection team
  • Supports continuous improvement strategies and initiatives (Six Sigma, Lean and 6s)
  • Performs FMEAs, Gage R&R, and develop Control Plans as needed
  • Creates Pareto of defects and action items to prevent reoccurrence
  • Support customer requests, corrective actions and coordinates related activities
  • Communicate information clearly and accurately to personnel including training, task assignment, problem resolution, and coaching or behavior/performance correction
  • Other tasks as may be assignment by management


  • BS Degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering
  • Several years experience in a machining environment.
  • Quality professional certification or thorough practical experience, knowledge of the applications and tools.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001:2008, 14001, OHSAS 18001 and industry standards
  • Advanced problem solving; analyzing, investigating and following up using six sigma tools, 6s, and Lean activities
  • Supervisory skills including strong mentoring, coaching and motivating
  • Knowledge of Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) is highly desired
  • Process improvement strategies (being process oriented)
  • Ability to develop and build a strong team environment, establishing effective relationships with the wide spectrum of team members and stakeholders
  • Ability to multitask and stay focused on tasks to completion, diligence and attention to detail
  • Easily identify and resolve obstacles to keep tasks on track
  • Applying vision and experience to determine the best plans and courses of action
