is a Chicago area recruiting agency specializing in the recruitment and placement of engineering, manufacturing, sales and technical professionals in a variety of fields.  Currently we are searching for a quality assurance manager who will work with our client to direct and coordinate all quality functions consistent with customer requirements and the company’s mission, quality policy, and its objectives.

Job Title:  Quality Assurance Manager

Compensation:  $65,000 – $85,000

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise quality department employees
  • Provide effective quality support and service to both internal and external customers
  • Maintain relationships with employees, customers and suppliers
  • Establish quality standards consistent with TQM principles
  • Coordinate quality activities with other internal departments (sales, engineering, manufacturing, etc)
  • Review and analyze quality department reports
  • Compile reports and present quality department activity summary to executive management
  • Develop and implement corrective actions
  • Establish, implement, and maintain quality system in accordance with TS-16949 and ISO 9002 or similar
  • Manage both internal and external audits
  • Develop and implement quality improvement plans
  • Contribute to strategic planning team activities
  • Travel to customer and supplier facilities as needed, including overnight stays when necessary
  • Ensure compliance with government environmental health and safety standards
  • Assist in developing budget and cost control programs
Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field of study, or equivalent training, experience and education
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a quality leadership role, preferable in an automotive supplier manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge in the area of TQM
  • Working knowledge of continuous improvement concepts
  • Previous experience in an ISO / TS-16949 environment
  • Lead auditor certification for TS-16949 is preferred
  • Knowledge of industry standards and specifications: ANSI, ASME, SAE, ISO, ASTM, etc
  • PC Literate including MS Office
  • Previous experience with ERP systems is preferred
