Kappa Search Inc. is a Chicago employment agency that specializes in engineering, manufacturing, quality assurance and technology recruitment and placement. One of our medical product clients is currently recruiting for a well-rounded engineer with the following background.

Description: This position is responsible for investigating, planning, and implementing improvements in and/or additions to current products and manufacturing processes that directly affects safety, quality, and productivity with the end result of producing a better quality product more efficiently.

Ensure compliance to quality policy, respond to customer complaints, perform audits, develop test methods, and/or write procedures for material characterization.

1. Maintain and follow proper ISO procedures and GMP requirements;

2. Plan and implement specified projects to be completed including organizing and leading members of various sections, planning and scheduling, coordinating resources (personnel, materials, time, money, suppliers), preparing proper documentation, etc.;

3. Provide engineering expertise in the design, fabrication, development, installation, validation, and qualification of equipment/product which may include feasibility studies and/or proper documentation for justification of project and training to ensure proper operation of the equipment;

4. Provide assistance for planning and implementation of projects to develop, install, and qualify new processes for manufacturing new products or improving existing products / processes;

5. Research and implement cost reduction projects;

6. Implement and maintain plant wide calibration system and drawing control/document control system;

7. Gather, track, and analyze production data for meetings, business plan, etc. (yields/output/efficiencies);

8. Plan work schedules, expenditures, attend meetings, and prepare monthly reports are required

Qualifications:

  • Typically requires a four year degree in an engineering curriculum. BSME or BSEE preferred.
  • 1-3 years experience in a manufacturing environment designing, specifying, fabricating, assembling, validating, debugging machinery/product and manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to create and work from engineering drawings and/or specs of particular engineering discipline.
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills. Basic knowledge of statistical techniques/methods.
  • General knowledge of drafting.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Ability to lead project work.
  • Familiarity with some electronic/chemical equipment and tools in laboratory testing. Prefer appropriate certifications for particular engineering discipline.
