Kappa Search Inc. is a Chicago employment agency that specializes in engineering, manufacturing, technology and supply chain recruitment and placement. We are currently recruiting for a Quality Assurance Engineer for a Fortune 500 client in the automotive industry.

The Quality Assurance Engineer will provide manufacturing and engineering support, and be responsible for process improvements in cost, quality, and safety. The following duties and responsibilities are reflective of this position.

  • Manage small QA projects which align with business strategies and drives continuous improvement.
  • Develop, maintain and provide documentation to ensure supplier compliance with procedures and policies.
  • Drive quality and process improvement efforts established by the business and operations leadership
  • Identify, create, monitor, and maintain key performance indicators including but not limited to productivity, quality audits, and departmental service level agreements
  • Establish and monitor quality processes of suppliers.
  • Assist in continuing education throughout the company around Continuous Quality Improvement” which may include but is not limited to LEAN, Six Sigma and ISO.
  • Maintain current knowledge of Quality Assurance and Process department operations issues and trends through education, seminars, and research.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field required; Bachelor’s degree in engineering preferred.
  • 3 + years experience in quality assurance preferred.
  • Experience with quality systems (ISO, Six Sigma, Lean, Kaizen) .
  • Experience in quality systems and implementation of quality tools including Six Sigma principles preferred.
  • Experience in implementation of formal quality systems strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated understanding of process improvement preferred, LEAN preferred.
  • 1-2 years experience in automotive industry a plus.
  • Advanced computer skills and proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, and Outlook required
