 Kappa Search Inc. (KSI) is a Chicago area recruiting agency specializing in the recruitment and placement of technical sales, engineering, manufacturing and technology professionals in a variety of fields. Our client is a leader in the manufacturing and sales of high end cutting tools for various CNC Mills and Lathes.

Title: Consumable Sales Engineer
Location: Boston, MA / Connecticut / Rhode Island
Compensation:  $45,000 + commission

The Consumable Sales Engineer is part of our client’s sales team responsible for growing and maintaining business in top Aerospace Accounts in the Northeast. The ideal candidate will have experience as a manufacturing/applications engineer or machinist in the Aerospace industry. The selected employee will receive the best training in providing solutions to their customers in Machining High Temperature Alloys and Carbon Fiber materials. The Aerospace Specialist is also responsible for maintaining and enhancing the distributor relationships for those distributors servicing the targeted Aerospace end-user accounts.

Job duties include:

  • Securing orders from existing and potential customers by means of visiting the customer facility or contacting by phone.
  •  Secures opportunities to quote on customer requirements.
  •  Follows up (by phone or visit) on quotations submitted to customers.
  • Establishes professional customer/vendor relationships with appropriate customer personnel (purchasing, engineering, manufacturing, quality assurance, management, other key personnel).
  •  Submits weekly activity/call reports concerning customer-related activities for quotes, orders, and problems concerning customer/vendor relationships.
  • Performs all assigned duties in the assigned sales territory.
  • Provides lost business reports on a weekly basis.

 Requirements:

  • The ideal candidate will live in Western Massachusetts. Southern Vermont or Connecticut will also be acceptable.
  • Five years experience in Aerospace manufacturing or related industry required.
  •  Experience working with high temp alloys required.
  •  Experience programming CNC machines preferred.
  • Outside sales experience preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills, self-motivated, self-starter, personable, extroverted personality, well organized.
  • Requires high school diploma or equivalent, BA recommended.
  •  Willingness to travel.  This would be done using company sponsored automobile and/or flying.
