Kappa Search Inc. is a Chicago employment agency that specializes in engineering, manufacturing, operations and technical sales recruitment and placement. We are currently recruiting for a Maintenance Manager with plastic blow molding expertise as follows.

 Essential Functions: 

    • Maintain equipment performance through enforcement of plant maintenance program based on best practices with an emphasis on planning/scheduling and preventive/predictive maintenance.
    • Reviews the operation of plant equipment and systems constantly, to minimize unplanned downtime.
  • Initiates, implements, and manages the plant maintenance program based on best practices
  • Manage maintenance spending within budget parameters
  • Work with plant team to identify and implement opportunities for improvement in safety, quality, and efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with all management systems including ISO 9001:2008, GMP, etc.
  • Create, review, and implement maintenance operating procedures as required to maintain and improve manufacturing operations
  • Determine and maintain proper staffing levels
  • Train and coach team members, including determination and scheduling of specific training activities
  • Prepare reports and conduct meetings as required
  • Perform personnel duties including hiring, firing, performance appraisals, and discipline
  • Ensure a safe working environment for all employees through enforcement of OSHA regulations, company safety procedures and policies
Experience: 
  • Minimum of five years experience in Maintenance Management in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong consideration given to those with experience in blow molding plastics manufacturing (IBM, EBM, Single Stage, Two Stage).

 

  • Computer skills – Microsoft Office, Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), enterprise software such as ORACLE, SAP
  • Initiate objective setting, plan development and performance review of plant equipment
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001
  • Working knowledge of SPC, SQC applications in a manufacturing environment, and GMP.
  • Strong problem solving skills, able to employ a structured approach to problem solving
  • Demonstrated ability to train and motivate others
  • Good written and oral communication skills

Experience/Certifications:

  • Experience with preventive and predictive maintenance
  • Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems
  • Experience with facilitation of teams
  • Ability to complete projects as assigned on time and within budget
  • Experience in working on problem solving teams with customers
  • Experienced in problem solving using a defined methodology such as Six Sigma/lean manufacturing
  • Experience with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
