Kappa Search Inc. is a Chicago employment agency that specializes in engineering, manufacturing, supply chain and procurement recruitment and placement. One of our clients is currently recruiting for a Strategic Sourcing Manager as follows:

Strategic Sourcing Manager:

Position Summary:Responsible for the development of Supply Chain Commodity Strategies.  Will lead team to identify suppliers who are able to support current and future needs of the business and manage strategic relationships with all suppliers.Successful candidate will: (essential duties and responsibilities):

  • Manage negotiation of supply agreements and improvement activities to support ongoing achievement of Supply Chain KPIs.
  • Manage capabilities of existing and future supply base to ensure they meet the needs of our business.
  • Carry our Purchasing market research to identify new suppliers and develop a process to evaluate capabilities Implement processes to manage risk within our Supply Chain.
  • Develop commodity strategies which support current and future business objectives.
  • Ensure Supply Chain strategies are effectively deployed. Negotiate long term formal agreements with core suppliers which satisfy QCD performance objectives.
  • Establish system to effectively manage all commercial contracts and agreements.
  • Work closely with Operational teams to ensure strategies are developed and deployed with full support of wider team

 

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor degree in related discipline.
  • Five- Seven years experience in Procurement/Supply Chain management role Experience of developing and implementing strategies within Aerospace or other High Technology industry
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate verbally and in writing at all levels internally and externally.
  • Computer literacy including competence in Microsoft Office Suite & appropriate ERP Systems.
  • Skilled negotiator with ability to formulate supply contracts which support business requirements.
  • Creative with ability to think outside the box – excellent problem solving skills. Demonstrated leadership skills.
  • Strong project management skills. Ideally CIPS qualified or US equivalent. Excellent problem solving skills
