Kappa Search Inc. is a Chicago recruiting agency that specializes in engineering, manufacturing, operations and technical sales recruitment and placement. We are currently recruiting for a Quality Assurance Engineer as follows:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Assist senior management in the development and formulation of long and short-range planning, policies, programs and objectives.
  • Maintain and continually develop our quality system in compliance with SAE ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and AS 9100.
  • Root cause analysis and implementation of corrective action for process related concerns.
  • Assist Quality manager in establishing, implementing and maintaining the quality management system.
  • Responsible for continual improvement activities to enhance the quality system, such as 5S, Kaizen lean methods, etc.
  • Develop training to build quality awareness.
  • Interface with Engineering and Operations to ensure transfer to Production of new products are in accordance with approved data.
  • Support the Quality Inspectors to ensure that products and processes comply with the relevant requirements of the quality management system.
  • Conduct audits, including closing out audit findings, creating audits finding reports and determine proper corrective and preventive actions.
  • Analyze failure, corrective and preventive action to respond to customer complaints.
  • Create and maintain company quality documentation, such as quality manuals, quality procedures, etc.
  • Ensure timely resolution of supplier failure, corrective actions and preventive actions.
  • Manage suppliers’ performance and conduct audits.
  • Preparation of QA reports.
  • Oversee quality initiative projects.
  •  Provide reporting of quality initiatives and indicators.
  •  Review and interpret regulations & specifications required by customers and other regulatory agencies.
  •  Provide leadership in achieving all customer Quality System Requirements.
  •  Provide management of daily quality activities including receiving, in-process, sub-assembly and finished goods inspection, new product conformity review, product returns and repair requests.
  • Formulates and recommends manufacturing polices and programs that guide the organization, maintaining and improving its competitive position and the profitability of the operation.
  • Identify, recommend and implement changes to improve productivity and reduce cost and scrap, monitor scrap and rework data.
Requirements:Education: CQE Certification, MPE, EE or degree equilvent experienceSkills: Project Management utilizing MS Project or similar; Engineering Design related Software ProEngineer ( ProE), AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office software; Design and Process FMEA; Working knowledge of ISO9002/1400 and AS9100 processes; Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma

Background Experience from the following industries helpful:

Wire and Cable; Connectors; Coax; Plastic Coatings; Aerospace or Military; Technical Medical products, Safety and Security Products, Plastics and Molding; RF; Air Handling Equipment (HVAC)
