Round Rock, Texas, welcomes Benchmark Electronics

The Round Rock Chamber of Commerce announced in June that Benchmark Electronics is expanding their Texas operations by opening a new facility in Round Rock, Texas, according to a statement by the chamber. The global electronics manufacturer chose the city's Corridor Park for its new building after viewing multiple location options in the Austin, Texas, area.

The Round Rock Chamber of Commerce Economic Development Partnership worked with the Texas Workforce Commission to provide a grant to Benchmark for the purpose of training its new workforce. The new location is expected to create 75 to 80 new jobs, according to Community Impact Newspaper. The training will take place through Austin Community College.

"Benchmark Electronics will be a valuable asset to the business community," Round Rock Mayor Alan McGraw said. "We are excited to have them as one of several global companies that have chosen to locate in Round Rock. We are very happy that we were able to work with them on a state incentive such as the prestigious Skills Development Fund."

Round Rock is moving the project through its fast-track permitting process so the company can begin operations this summer.

Businesses expanding their operations should work with manufacturing recruiters to find the most qualified candidates for their open positions.
