Texas manufacturer expanding business

A Texas-based manufacturer will be expanding its business in Norfolk, Neb. Tejas Tubular Products Inc., a leading supplier of tubing and pipelines for oil and gas producers, will be building a new 350,000-square foot plant in Norfolk.

Tejas Tubular owner Max Tejeda said at a press conference he chose the city for the new plant location because he admires the drive of the state.

"I am really impressed with Nebraskans' ability to get things done," Tejeda said. "That is not the case everywhere."

Along with a new manufacturing plant, Tejas Tubular will be adding more than 200 jobs in the process. Nebraska Gov. Dave Heineman said at a press conference he hopes the addition of Tejas Tubular will help the state's economy and their standing in the manufacturing industry.

"Attracting Tejas Tubular is an example of how Nebraska is moving forward as a desired premier destination for companies looking to expand and create jobs," he said.

Businesses who are looking to add experienced workers to their roster can enlist the services of manufacturing recruiters to help in their search.

The new plant will be responsible for making casing, drill pipe and line pile that is used in conjunction with oil fracking. Construction for the site is aiming to begin later in 2014 and hopes to be completed by the third quarter of 2014.
