Trelleborg Wheel System plans to open first North American facility in South Carolina

Trelleborg Wheel Systems is opening it's first North American facility in Spartanburg, South Carolina. Trelleborg is a global manufacturer of radial tires for agricultural machinery and tire dealers.

The Spartanburg facility is pivotal for the company's global growth. Though the company already sells its products in North America, a facility in the region provides it many benefits and allows it to capitalize on its partnerships with equipment manufacturers and distributors in the U.S. and Canada, overall improving Trelleborg's competitiveness.

The company is investing approximately $50 in the plant, which will be a 430,000-square-foot facility. Construction will begin in 2015 and the renovation should be finished and the new machinery installed by 2018, according to Area Development.

"Trelleborg has facilities all over the world and they chose to build this new facility in South Carolina – that says a lot about our workforce and business environment," South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley said. "We congratulate them on their decision to invest $50 million and create 150 new jobs in Spartanburg County."

Global and local businesses alike should partner with manufacturing recruiters to connect with the most skilled workers in their areas.
