Two furniture companies are creating new jobs in Mississippi

Pontotoc, Mississippi, will benefit from 55 new job openings at furniture companies Brooks and Dehart Furniture Xpress, Inc. and Eaton Custom Seating, according to a statement from Mississippi Gov. Phil Bryant. The two companies have announced they're investing in their operations in Pontotoc.

Brookes and Dehart Furniture Xpress, a logistics and delivery company, will open a terminal in Pontotoc County to better service furniture manufacturers in northeast Mississippi. The company is investing $2.8 million into the new facility, which is expected to create 35 new positions.

Eaton Custom Seating is growing its operations at its Pontotoc location, which predominantly makes seating for health and hospitality environments. The company is adding 12,825 square feet to its current 110,000-square-foot building. Eaton Company Seating is investing $500,000 into the addition and expects to need 20 new workers.

The Mississippi Development Authority provided assistance for both company's projects.

"These two announcements are great news for Pontotoc and the northeast Mississippi region, and I thank both of these companies for investing in Mississippi and creating new job opportunities for the area's workforce," Bryant said.

Businesses expanding their staff should work with manufacturing recruiters to find the most qualified candidates for their new positions.
