WiredRE to advise new data center in Nevada

Winnemucca, Nevada, will soon be home to a new data center, according to a statement from Wired Real Estate Group Inc. (WiredRE). The data center will sit on a 22,000-acre site halfway between Salt Lake City, Utah, and San Francisco, California. It'll be in the same corridor in which Apple has established a large data center campus.

The location provides a 120 megawatt power grid, large amounts of natural gas, access to solar-generated electricity and established water rights, according to the statement.  Nevada is a great location for data centers because of the infrequency of natural disasters, availability of fiber and tax incentives.

WiredRE, an experienced cloud and data center advisory firm, has been chosen as the data center advisor.

"GAMFY (Google, Apple, Microsoft, Facebook, and Yahoo) have proven that data centers are more like utilities and power plants every day," said Everett Thompson, CEO of WiredRE. "The scale of this data center development in Winnemucca is enormous, and it's the perfect fit for today's sophisticated user."

Businesses establishing new facilities should partner with technical recruiters to find the highest qualified workers for their open positions.
