American Colors Inc. is expanding their operations by opening a second production facility in Tennessee, according to a statement from the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development (TDECD). The company plans to build a 30,000-square-foot building in the Gallatin Industrial Center. The company is investing $3.7 million to make this expansion successful.
American Colors is experiencing a greater number of business opportunities, according to its Chief Executive Officer James Oram Wible. The new facility will make products for composites, coatings and plastics. It will also include a research and development department.
The company expects the new facility to be up and running by the beginning of 2015. It also anticipates the expansion will create the need for 31 new workers.
"Incumbent industry expansions are an essential element to help spur job creation in our state, and with nearly 45,000 Tennesseans employed within the chemicals and plastics sector, I am pleased to see American Colors add to that number," said Bill Hagerty, commissioner for the TDECD.
Businesses creating new jobs should partner with manufacturing recruiters to fill their open positions with the most skilled workers.
