Audia International, Inc. is planning to build a 240,000-square-foot facility in Walker County, Georgia, according to the Chatanooga Times Free Press. The plastics-maker is building the facility on 25 acres of land located on U.S. Highway 27 in the unincorporated community of Noble, Georgia.
Walker County worked with Audia International for over a year to encourage the company to locate in the area, and as an incentive, purchased the 25 acres of land for $4.23 million and gifted it to the company, Times Free Press reported. The company searched for properties in six different states but ultimately decided on Georgia. It will invest more than $50 million in the facility, according to Northwest Georgia News.
The company has 10 manufacturing locations located throughout North America and Europe. It will begin construction on the new building by early fall in 2015. The facility will manufacture products for three of Audia International's subsidiaries: Washington Penn Plastic Co. Inc., Uniform Color Co. and Southern Polymer Inc., Northwest Georgia News reported.
Companies that are expanding their operations and creating new jobs should work with manufacturing recruiters to fill the open positions with the most qualified candidates in their areas.
