Curry Supply Company is establishing a new plant in Hollidaysburg, Pennsylvania

Curry Supply Company manufactures commercial service vehicles and is investing $2.4 million to start a new facility in Hollidaysburg, Pennsylvania, Area Development reported.

The company makes and sells vehicles for the construction, mining, oil and gas and railroad industries. It has experienced considerable growth due to drilling in the Marcellus Shale and is expanding its vehicles for the natural gas industry to include vacuum trucks, rig vacs and water trucks, according to Area Development.

The company entered into a lease for a 50,000-square-foot building in DeGol Industrial Park Center to have the space necessary to increase its operations. The new plant and growing production will create 50 jobs in the next three years.

"The growth of our energy industry is reigniting our manufacturing and leading to new jobs for Pennsylvanians," said Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Corbett. "Marcellus shale presents new opportunity for Pennsylvania companies like Curry Supply Company to develop new technologies to increase productivity and environmental safety."

The state has encouraged Curry Supply to apply for funding it set out in a proposal from the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development, which included $280,000 of incentives.

Companies expanding their operations due to growing natural gas and oil exploration in the U.S. should work with manufacturing recruiters to fill their open positions with the most qualified workers.
