InSinkErator to establish new facility in Kenosha, Wisconsin

InSinkErator announced it's chosen Kenosha, Wisconsin, as home for its new manufacturing facility, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Fox affiliate WITI reported. The company is the world's largest manufacturer of residential and commercial food waste disposals. To increase its operations, InSinkErator will lease a 160,000-square-foot building in the Business Park of Kenosha.

The company is headquartered in Racine, Wisconsin, and will also invest $43.7 million to renovate and purchase new equipment for its plant in Racine,Wisconsin, according to the Milwaukee Business Journal. It chose to open a new plant in Kenosha instead if expanding its Racine facility or establishing a second plant in the city due to the availability of the building in the Business Park of Kenosha. The possible Racine locations may also have lacked the sewer and water utilities InSinkErator needed. Overall, the Kenosha facility reduced the risks associated with multiple locations in the same area that could both be affected by natural disasters, the Milwaukee Business Journal reported.

InSinkErator will receive financial assistance through the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation's Enterprise Zone Tax Credits. The amount of tax credit received will be based on the job creation and capital investment made by the company in the area.

"We are pleased that a great company like InSinkErator would choose to expand their operations in southeastern Wisconsin, and with it, adding manufacturing jobs in both Racine and Kenosha," said Kenosha Mayor Keith G. Bosman.

The new plant is expected to be operational by the middle of 2015 and will create 165 new jobs.

Businesses looking to expand their operations should work with manufacturing recruiters to find the most qualified candidates for their open positions. Recruiters can take the time to find workers with the skills each position needs while companies can focus on the logistics of meeting the growing demand for their products.
