Nordson Corporation is expanding its operations and began construction in June on a new state-of-the-art facility in Loveland, Colorado, according to a company statement. The company is experiencing growing demand for its Value Plastics brand in the medical market and the new facility will allow Nordson to increase its production capacity and meet this demand.
Nordson currently creates its Value Plastic brand products at a leased facility in Fort Collins, Colorado, and employs approximately 90 people. The company plans to build a 115,000-square-foot facility on the 116-acre site, which will have clean room molding, assembly, packaging and storage capabilities. The building will also be environmentally conscious. Nordson expects to reduce its energy use and maintenance costs at the new location.
The company anticipates the new facility to be fully operational by early 2015.
"The nearby Loveland location allows us to stay in the same general region with access to many amenities and a highly talented workforce," Nordson's Vice President George Porter said. "We will continue to support the [Fort Collins] region through grants to local charitable organizations and our ongoing employee volunteer efforts."
Businesses opening facilities in a new location should work with manufacturing recruiters to find the most qualified workers in the new area.
